Upon arrival in Munich: September 4, 2010

Carrying my possessions for three months in what consists of two suitcases and an over sized back pack, I head with my new class mate Phil over to meet Kelly at the only existing Starbucks in the Munich airport. We were warmly welcomed and given refreshments from our nations famous place of coffee. But I had tea.
Oddly enough, we went the speed limit on the Autobahn. We drove for a ways out from the airport area and into the beautiful city of Munich. I had been there once before. The weather was brisk and winter cold, it being November. And Christmas markets were set up in the town square. But today, on this early September day where Fall hadn’t officially began yet, it was sunny and the air was quite warm. We drove around in circles for approximately 15 minutes trying to find a simple parking spot. Then we tried to feed the machine our coins, but it didn’t want them. Oh the anticipation to go into the square! I couldn’t wait to see Munich’s clock tower once again!

Here is our group! Starting in left back: Phil,
Hannah D., Me, Kristen, Kacey, Steve, Aaron,
In the front: Kirsten, Kelley and Hannah E.
We all ate lunch/dinner at the Hofbräuhaus there in Munich. Every day a mixture of hungry tourist and regulars cram into this building to be fed. Some of the requirements for the waitresses to be able to work there include the ability to deal with angry drunk customers, quick mental math skills, must own a dirndl, oh and did I forget to mention... must be able to carry 5 beer mugs in each hand!!! Yes eating there was an experience. When one drunk breaks into song, they are joined by thousands of others.
